Ty Miller is from a small town in southern Illinois, where time moves a little slower, the horizon stretches on forever, and the sun sets behind rows of corn.
When Ty was a kid, his imagination was always active and he began writing short spooky stories, inspired by R.L. Stine. None of those stories made it beyond his notebook, but a seed had been planted that would take a couple more decades to sprout.
At 14, Ty began playing guitar, and it has long remained his main creative outlet. Throughout high school, he faced the normal struggles of being a teenager, and playing guitar always managed to calm his mind. It was during those days that he learned the importance and positive influence that creating music could have on a kid.
Called west by the mountains and the cold Pacific Ocean, he and his wife, Amanda, moved their family to northern California. It was there that Ty combined his experience as a father with his passion for music and began writing children's books. He wanted to share the magic of music with a new generation by bringing instruments to life through entertaining stories and illustrations, while passing on good morals.
"Follow your heart, make your own path, and never let a good sunset go to waste."
